Latest Guidelines - Suspension of Entry to Colombia, for people coming from India

Resolution No. 626 of 2021, dated May 19, 2021

 Article 1. Suspension of entry into Colombian territory. Entry into Colombian territory has been suspended for travelers who are not residents of Colombia, and who come by air connection from the Republic of India, or who have been India in the last fourteen (14) days, from 00:00 hours 20 May until June 30, 2021. People whose country of origin has been the Republic of India in the last fourteen (14) days, will only be admitted into Colombian territory in the case of:

  • Colombians and foreigners who started their travel from the Republic of India or who started their connecting flight to Colombia before the effective date of this resolution.
  • Colombians and foreigners who, due to time difference, have already been present at the air terminal before this resolution come into force.
  • Colombians and foreigners with permanent residence in Colombia, following the indications of the health authorities regarding the isolation and taking of the
  • PCR test, established in article 3 of this Resolution.
  • Diplomats and their dependents, foreigners who have a migrant visa or visa type "R", "M".
  • The crew of the aircraft.

 Those who arrive in the country in international connection must, during the waiting time, remain in the waiting area designated for this purpose, in accordance with the protocols adopted by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and by the Special Administrative Unit of Civil Aeronautics.

 Passengers whose final destination is another city within the country, their transfer will be made with all the biosecurity measures established by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and by the Special Administrative Unit of Civil Aeronautics. The cost incurred for the fulfillment of these measures will be borne by the passenger.

 Paragraph: The Special Administrative Unit for Migration Colombia, within the framework of its powers, may deny the entry of any foreigner to Colombian territory from the Republic of India, in exercise of the principle of State sovereignty.

 Article 3: Preventive health measures. Passengers admitted, under the terms of article 1 of this Resolution, must adopt the following measures:

  • Persons older than two (2) years, must present, without any exception, the negative PCR test taken within the last ninety-six (96) hours in the country of origin.
  • Have to take, at his/her own expense, a PCR test in within twenty-four (24) hours after the arrival and another PCR test after seven (7) days of the arrival.
  • Adopt preventive sanitary measures of isolation and strict quarantine for fourteen (14) days from the date of arrival, which will be carried out at the place of residence or in a lodging, paid with their own resources, without being able to modify during this time the chosen place. During this period, the person should maintain social distancing, permanently wear face mask, wash the hands continuously and avoid contact with other people as much as possible.

 Article 7: Surveillance of compliance with the preventive measures of PCR test, isolation and quarantine. Passengers entering the country under the terms of article 1 of this Resolution will be strictly monitored for symptoms and contact tracing through the National Tracking Contact Center.
