Resumption of Regular Visa Services and Mandatory Biometric Capture for Visa & OCI Applicants

Important Notice: Resumption of Regular Visa Services and Mandatory Biometric Capture for Visa & OCI Applicants
It is hereby informed that Regular Visa Services at the Embassy of India, Bogotá have resumed and are operational.
- Further, with effect from 01 June 2026, mandatory biometric capture for all Visa and OCI applicants from Colombia and Ecuador will commence at the Embassy.
- Accordingly, all applicants applying for Visa or OCI services will be required to appear in person at the Embassy for submission of applications and biometric data capture.
- With effect from 01 June 2026:
- Visa and OCI applications will no longer be accepted through DHL/courier service.
- Applicants will be required to obtain prior appointment before visiting the Embassy for submission of Visa/OCI applications.
- Appointment requests may kindly be sent to visa.bogota@mea.gov.in
with copy to consular.bogota@mea.gov.in .
- Appointments will normally be scheduled during Consular submission timings i.e. between 1000 hrs and 1200 hrs on working days (Monday to Friday).
- Applicants are advised to seek appointments only after ensuring that the online application form has been duly completed and all supporting documents are ready.
Applicants from Ecuador
- While Embassy of India, Quito has been functional since September 2025, Visa, OCI and other consular services for applicants residing in Ecuador are presently being handled by Embassy of India, Bogotá until further notice.
- Accordingly, applicants travelling to India from Ecuador are particularly advised to obtain prior appointment before undertaking travel to Bogotá in order to avoid inconvenience.
