The information and documents required for applying Tourist Visa

APPLICANTS ARE ADVISED TO SUBMIT THEIR APPLICATION 2-4 WEEKS BEFORE THEIR FLIGHT.

Applicants can apply either for e-Tourist Visa online  or Regular Paper Tourist Visa  through the Embassy.

Procedure ( CLICK HERE )  for Regular Tourist Visa through the Embassy of India, Bogota:

List of documents required:

(a) The Passport (original) with a minimum validity of one (1) year with at least three continuous blank pages and a copy of the first page of the passport.

(b) Duly filled Online application form with signatures and photo uploaded. White background photo uploaded into the system. White background photo 5 × 5 cm pasted to the form. It has to be signed on both pages (in the 2 spaces required). Low quality images will not be accepted.

(c) In case the person is applying for a 7-12 months visa, submit a letter detailing the reasons for applying for such length, along with the detailed itinerary for his/her visit(s) (dates, cities to be visited, hotels, transportation, etc.).

(d) Personal bank statements of the past three months with a minimum balance of COP 6,000,000 for Colombian nationals / USD 2,000 in case of Ecuador nationals.

(e) In case your spouse/parents will be responsible for your expenses, please attach a notarized letter stating responsibility for trip expenses along with a copy of the birth registration or marriage certificate.

(f) Flight reservation/itinerary or copy of air ticket.

(g) Copy of International Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate. People traveling to India must present their International Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate irrespective of age (only children below 6 months are exempted). This certificate can be current or expired. Not having this requirement exposes the Applicant to being returned or quarantined in a health center. The Embassy of India will not be responsible in case any person is detained by the Migratory Authorities due to lack of Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate. No letters from Doctors/organizations recommending such exemptions are entertained.

(i) Applicant with dual nationality must attach a copy of the other (non-applying) passport. Please note that the applicant can choose the passport to apply with.

(j) All visa applications must be accompanied by travel insurance for the period of time that the person is visiting India.

(k) Original bank deposit slip/payment receipt, as applicable, for the prescribed Visa fee.

(l) To return Passport outside Bogotá in Colombian territory, applicants have to deposit the additional courier fee and provide the complete address, including ZIP code (www.codigopostal.gov.co), to which the applicants want their passport returned. Applicants opting for courier service have to pay the DHL charges separately.

PAYMENT OF VISA FEES:
