ICCR SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME 2022-2023

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations and the Embassy of India in Colombia are pleased to announce the new call for applying for the Atal Bihari Vajpayee General Scholarship Scheme (previously known as General Scholarship Scheme) and the Lata Mangeshkar Dance & Music Scholarship Scheme (previously known as Scholarship scheme for Indian Culture), for the academic year 2022 - 2023. We invite all the interested international students to apply through the (ICCR A2A Portal), which will be operational from the 25th January 2022. May please note that courses are currently being taught remotly. Therefore, no candidates are travelling to India, unless the institute requires his/her attendance.

Apart from the General Guidelines established by ICCR, please take into account the following: 

1. Students may obtain the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) equivalence (if required). In case AIU equivalence is required the student may apply for the same at: Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and bear the fees incurred on obtaining the certificate at own expense (non-reimbursable). 2. These scholarship slots include return economy class air-fares to the nearest airport and 3rd AC Train fare to the place of study, if required. The Embassy will book one way economy class ticket (from the country of origin to India). 

*ICCR Scholarship Scheme - UPDATE*

All interested candidates in taking par on the ICCR Scholarship Scheme for 2022-2023, may please notice the following change in regard of medical insurance requirement for this Academic Year: 

  • All students must acquire a medical insurance before departing to India for attending their courses (issuance of visa depends on proof of purchase of a medical insurance). This information is available on the ICCR scholarship A2A Portal.

3. HEALTH INSURANCE UPDATE: ICCR is introducing mandatory medical insurance to be taken by the students at their own cost. The medical coverage to be insured should be at least ₹5,00,000, per annum or equivalent in foreign currency if taken ovearseas. In this sense, ICCR would like to share the information from two insurance companies:

Candidates may notice that te above premium rates are only indicative. Students are free to obtain insurance company in India of their choice or, those who arrive from their country, can bring international insurance valid in India. It is mandatory for students to be with valid medical insurance for availing of ICCR's scholarship.

APPLICATION TIMELINE - UPDATED**

Already opened since 10-Feb-2022 Opening of ICCR A2A Portal for admissions.
31-May -2022 Last date of application to be submitted by students.
15-June-2022 Last date of Universities to inform the decision (if confirmed, intimation to Missions; if rejected, intimation to students).
30-June-2022 Last date for allocating scholarship and generating Offer Letters by Indian Mission abroad.
15-July-2022 Last date of acceptance by students.
22-July-2022 Based on the number of acceptances in the first round (if acceptances are less than the scholarship seats allocated) Indian Mission to offer scholarship to other students who were not considered in the first round.
30-July-2022 Second-round students to convey their acceptances.
